Amphibious Response Support Unit ONE (ARSU1) is excited to announce the construction of Saskatchewan’s first dedicated Water Rescue Base and Training Facility in Echo Valley Provincial Park Saskatchewan, Canada.
On July 15, 2023 Teams will line up to the first ever “Build your Boat Echo Lake Plywood Regatta” hosted by Amphibious Response Support Unit ONE and Prairie Co-Op at the Echo Valley Provincial Park.
We’re inviting you to participate in this adventure packed day where you and a team of shipmates will build a boat out of plywood, nails and duct tape (that we will supply) and race along the mighty waters of Echo lake competing against other teams to win the coveted “Golden Paddle” .
There will be lots of prizes not only for those who complete the race, but for teams that stand out from the others in various categories.
Team registration starts on March 31-st and must be submitted by June 15th.
Join us for this whole day of fun.
Visit the displays and participate in the many programs going on all day.
There will be music, vendors, food and lots of action in-on and near the water. Admission to visitors is free of charge (park entry fees apply), but a donation is always appreciated.
So mark your calendar July 15, Saturday rain or shine at Echo Valley Provincial Park. Programs start from 9 am. Race starts at 2 pm.
Hi my name is Gusztav (well officially it's Portside's Gusztav) and i was born on the 1-st of February 2019 in Erin Ontario. I am a Portuguese Water Dog. My mom's name is Portside's Je Ne Sais Quoi RN and my Dad's name is Baywood's Norse Legend. How I got the name Gusztav is something my partner/handler and best friend John will tell you about.
Now that I am 4 years old my handler lets me do more things to help him and his team save lives in and around the water. Not to brag, but they tell me that I am the first Water Rescue K9 that can be deployed from a hovercraft. Last year they even interviewed me for International Dog Day: https://regina.ctvnews.ca/paws-on-patrol-dogs-playing-important-roles-in-workforce-1.6044705
Follow "The Adventures of K9 Gusztav" as he becomes a water Rescue Dog. He and his partner John Maczko - Chief Pilot and Director of Operations of ARSU1 will guide you through his journey as he helps save lives.
Echo Valley Paddlers is ARSU1’s opportunity to teach and develop paddling skills as well as safety training for paddlers in Echo Valley as well as other partner Provincial Parks.
We are honored to be an official club of Canoe Kayak Saskatchewan.
