Responding to Emergencies and Mobilization

IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 911

ARSU1 is activated through our mutual aid partnership with the Fort Qu'Appelle Fire Department.

Other First Responder agencies (regional or provincial)  may also contact us to provide assistance in the form of mutual aid.

ARSU1 will self activate and provide assistance to a person(s) if:

  • The unit is on scene where an incident is taking place;
  • We are notified directly by a member of the public that someone is in distress and requires assistance;
  • We have the ability and capability to initiate the rescue or response safely.

 Above and beyond challenging situations ARSU1 reaches out to our communities by providing information on water and ice safety to better the lives of others through prevention. Since forming our unit, we have attracted thousands of people at public events. Through our community engagement, we help to prevent injury and loss of lives for those who work and play around water and ice.

We believe that every ice and water injury or death is preventable.

ARSU1 is certified by the Transport Canada Office of Boating Safety to conduct free pleasure craft safety checks.

These courtesy checks will help you make sure that you have all the required safety equipment on board.
